Tampa Bay Innovation Center Announces Spring 2022 Accelerator Cohort

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – (April 15, 2022) – This week, the Tampa Bay Innovation Center, a business incubator, accelerator, and coworking center, kicked-off its spring 2022 Accelerator cohort with six startups that will receive specific training and mentoring in customer discovery, product strategy, investor-readiness, and entrepreneurial leadership.

“We are excited to introduce the next cohort of this highly successful B2B Accelerator and welcome these innovative companies into the program. While the weekly workshops focus mainly on product and go-to-market strategy, we will also work with the founders to strengthen their marketing, operations, and leadership skills.  The application process which started in January received a record number of applicants.  There were many good companies and ideas, but we focus our effort on the companies that we can assist most through the program and our mentor network.”  said Ken Evans, managing director of the accelerator program.

“Through the 12-week program, we plan to leverage our consulting experience to learn more about how to develop a tech product, roll it out, and scale a tech company” Barbra Anderson, cofounder of Destination Better, and ESG professional services firm.

The startups of the cohort include:

Beacon Advocates – Resource marketplace for connecting cancer patients and their families with a wide range of resources for enhancing care

CBio – Diagnostic tool for use in vaccine development, drug testing, and pathogen detection.

Cross Compute – Tools and utilities for data analytics specifically in the public utilities industry

Destination Better – ESG auditing and reporting tool for public companies

SueApp – Self-service legaltech product that enables the filling small claims online

Zing Drone – Last mile delivery via autonomous drones

These companies are working on emerging tech in the areas of #medtech, #healthtech, #fintech, #dataanalytics, #esgreporting, and #droneservice

The Tampa Bay Innovation Center is supported by Pinellas County, TampaBay.Ventures, and numerous other community partners from the local business community.

The Accelerator will run virtually from mid-April through the end of June. Graduates of the program will participate in an in-person Showcase event during the month of July to an audience of investors, community leaders, media, and potential business partners/customers.
